Description
This specialized class is designed to provide young children with the necessary skills and techniques to excel in writing. From proper posture and pencil grip to writing complete sentences, we have it covered.
What Kindergarten Handwriting Offers
Designed with the specific needs of kindergarten-aged children, we honor their shorter attention spans and their need to learn through play and interactive activities. That’s why this class incorporates a variety of engaging games, puzzles, and hands-on activities to keep learners motivated and excited about learning.
Another key feature of our class is the small class size. Young learners need individualized attention and the support they need. This allows our experienced instructors to closely monitor each child’s progress and tailor the lessons accordingly.
Furthermore, our curriculum is carefully crafted to cover all the essential components of handwriting–letter formation and spacing to writing complete sentences. This comprehensive approach covers the basics but also encourages creativity and self-expression.
Orton-Based Methodology
The Orton-Based Methodology is at the core of our Kindergarten Handwriting class, making the process of learning to write simple and fun for young learners. This methodology is based on the principles developed by Samuel Torrey Orton, a renowned neuropsychiatrist, and his colleague, Anna Gillingham. We focus on teaching children how to break down the complex process of writing into smaller, manageable tasks.
Our instructors use multisensory techniques to engage children in the learning process. They incorporate activities that stimulate visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning to ensure that every child can fully understand and internalize the concepts being taught. Through this approach, we aim to accommodate different learning styles and provide a rich and engaging experience for every child.
Our kindergarten handwriting course is designed to build confidence in young writers by providing a step-by-step approach to mastering the skills necessary for successful handwriting.
